Is this a good deal?
Im 17 and im trying to get a car and i think i found a good deal on a 2001 audi a6 quatro s line. Im not good with cars and the guy said that a turbo needs to be replaced. It has 90000 miles and is $5000.

Thats a link to the listing. Is it a good deal, even though i would have to change the turbo. Any help would be appreciated.

The deal is not bad but not great. The turbos alone cost 2500-3000 dollars add about 2000 for the labor.
Now you can get used turbos for about 400 and then you have the labor to worry about. Unless your doing this your self.
Ask the seller if the timing belt was changed. if not it will probably be 500 more if you do it with the turbo's engine pull. otherwise its around 1000.
BUT the thing is this, The turbos in this car are often Misdiagnosed to be leaking when in reality the valve covers and cam adjuster seals are leaking. ASK the seller who did the diagnostic. If it was a european shop or audi then the choice is up to you.
just keep in mind you will need to spend atleast 3-4k to make it run again if infact the turbos are leaking.
and in this car BOTH turbos MUST be replaced in PAIRS.

If you are 17 and wondering if $9k is a good deal, you are missing the point. The real questions is whether the car is worth $14-15k which is what you'll put into it for new turbos and whatever else is found. I can't imagine a 17 year old with an after high school job paying for all this, so unless mom/dad have deep pockets, find a cheap Japanese brand and save your money for college.
