Default gti 1.8t vs a6 2.7t

i just raced my friend today who has a 01gti 1.8t with apr chip and carbonio cold air intake.. i ave an 00 a6 2.7t 6spd with apr chip and awe intake also..we raced today from around 25-to 100 and i only beat him by about a car length and i was shifting perfect.. i feel like i should have won by a lot more being that i should have about 100hp more and 150 more ft/lbs of torque. sometimes my car will feel like its pulling hard.. then ill just die and u can kinda hear a hiss.. and other times it will spudder like it wants to go then stop then go o then stopp.. idk what it is im hinking diverter valves being i got the awe TBB..i think im leaking more boost then i know even when it still feels kind of fast.

Also maybe your MAF Sensor. try unplugging the MAF ride down the road and if it feels good with no hesitation go home and plug back in the MAF and take it for another ride again if it hesitates it is probably your MAF

I think it was good that you beat GTI at all. Don't forget, your car weighs almost 1000lbs more than the GTI. That is half a ton.

When you don't launch you would lose all your power torque off the line... rolling 25 gives you a lower end of torque just the horsepower. You have to do the weight ratio with the torque and weight aswell with each car. These cars are fun to play with in my stage 3 a6 .. they think it is a a6 and I just MOP them

I have a stock 2.7t tip and I would be pissed if I lost to a 1.8t! I have beat several 1.8t jetta's.

i feel your pain, this sounds very discouraging, as an admirer of turbos one would exspect that a Biturbos should have no rival other than them selves. this raises questions about the real advantages of the bi to the uni. i thought the Biturbos are sequencial, kicking in at different time as demands increases.

A single turbo is a lot better than a twin turbo sadly... They are bigger with quicker spools.. while our car 1 turbo feeds the other turbo. They have some HUGE single turbos haha

I beg to differ. Bigger turbos do not spool quicker, instead they are slower. They just provide more boost once spooled. Problem with one big turbo is the major turbo lag. You don't usually see boost building untill 4K+ rpm.

and 2.7T are not sequential turbos. They are 2 separate turbos just feeding single intake. One does not feed the other in 2.7T.
