Hard Start
Previously I had an issue with my 2000 A6 2.8L (101K) starting. It would sound like it wanted to turn over but couldn't. I would have to pump the gas in order for it not start and it would after 5 minutes of this. I eventually changed the fuel filter and the contents of it were grey deposits. This fixed the problem for a about 5 days. Tried to start my car and it wouldn't. Let it sit for a while and started it but it sounded like it wanted to stall. It would sit at about 1100 RPMs before finally coming to a rugular idle. Any ideas?

thats the beauty of using premium gas and a fuel system cleaner once every 2 months or so... keeps the deposit build up to a minimum. what you described just sounds like reallly dirty gas or hopefully not the fuel pump may be going because of having to pump through that dirty filter for a long time.

Yep probably bad gas and a plugged filter again.. I'm cheep so if it were me I'd remove the current filter and back flush it to get it a bit clean and put it back in. After a few days I'd do it again. Once it does not have any junk when it is back flushed I'd then put in a new filter.
PS use a white cloth as a strainer when you back flush it so you can see what is comming out.
PPS find a different gas station...
