Heat Question

RE: Heat Question
I have a hose that is colapsing on me and when it does I lose my heat. Most of the time its fine you can let your car warm up with the heat off then turn it on and see if you get any heat.If you get a little and then it stops and blows cool air it may just be a hose. The hose I have to replace is coming off the intake manifold like .75' about 1' long and is in an L-Shape.good luck.

RE: Heat Question
To clarify, no air comes out of the vents or does it only blow cold air? The first one would generally be the thermostat and the later would be the blower motor, blower motor resistor, or the fuse/relay.

RE: Heat Question
I am having the same problem. There is no blowing( just a small bit actually). I took it to my local mechanic( no audi where I live) and he taps on the motor and says that he thinks that I should replace it. It turns slowly he says. I have to order a new motor and it costs around 490 dollars I think.
Any advice how I could get it done a bit cheaper than that and are blower motors repairable?
Thank you.

RE: Heat Question
I thought the blower was kind of a PITA to access - hidden under the lower passenger side dash. How did he "tap on the motor".
There have been many threads about the fan motor squealing - mine does. There was a link to instructions to access and lube the motor. Possibly that's all you need. If it was me, I'd try that first before I spent over $500.
