heated steering wheel
i just bought a 2001 4.2 and i found the original window sticker in the car. It says it has a heated steering wheel. How the hell do i get it to work! I didn't see it in the instruction manual and i can't find any buttons to turn it on. Can anyone help?

RE: heated steering wheel
....zzzz.....Oh, sorry, haven't visited here in a while.
Anyway, about the heated stering wheel, they were available in the 4.2 and S6 only, and yes, tied to the heated seats. First, check your fuses. I think it had it's own fuse, but I am not sure. If the fuse is fine, just be aware that the heating elements in the steering wheel are known to fail/burn-out, so if you are not getting any heat, it might just be broken.
Mine works fine, and it is great on cold mornings. The wheel does not really get hot, but warm enough that my hands are comfortable.

RE: heated steering wheel
The heated sterting wheel will only work when temperature inside the car is cold. It wil heat up to 30C and then fall to 20C. and operates when the heated seats are on. I have mine on a 2.5TDI. Does anyone know how to keep it at 30C.
