i am getting my cats changed at a local muffler shop and they are trying to rape me byk saying they have to be CARB style and that makes them helza expensive, help quick, is he taking me to the cleaners, i go pick it up in like an hour. thanks david

 

never heard of a CARb style before your car is injection, I think they are taking the P

 

I just changed one of mine at a cost of £138 approx $250 ish from eurocarparts

 

CARB stands for california air resources board. so im assuming he means they arent carb certified to meet air quality emissions etc.

 

Thats exactly what it means. It has nothing to do with the fuel system style. The reason they say you need carb approved cats is because it is illegal for them to put anything else on the car. Big fines too. Like 10g's for the first offence.
