Default Help with buying decision

Hey guys,

I am considering buying a 2007 Audi A6 3.2 with 64k miles for $16k in Florida. I took a look at the vehicle and the interior looks great, but the exterior is a bit banged up. There are surface scratches (moderate) on the rear bumper and the headlights are in desperate need of some TLC (light scratches, but a TON of them.)

Do you have any concerns on the age or mileage of the car based on your experiences? Is it a fair deal? What do you estimate that repairs would cost on the bumper and headlights (would prefer a Pro for the detailing to myself).

I really like the car, but need some advice to help convince myself and the wife (mostly the wife). Any help is much appreciated!

I have a couple Chrysler Crossfires and have read a lot of detailing posts. You can probably get a professional detailing of the paint to remove swirls, small scratches, plus claybar and wax for $200-300. Just make sure they know what they are doing - ask for references. Meguiars sells a plastic headlight restorer (Scratch-X I think) that you can do yourself with a little elbow grease. Then wax the lenses real well.

As far as price, it seems a little high for a 6 year old car, but mine is 10 with 216k so my expectations are low.
