I am looking at an Audi 2.8l Quattro 2001 with 97000 miles on it. It is a beauty and all records but the 100000 mile maintenance. What does that entail and how much.

Is 12900 too much?

 

The 2.8L is slow but is one of the most reliable engines audi makes. Just change the oil and it will run FOREVER! The price is a little too steep though, i would offer him 10 grand.

 

I bought mine 99 with 90k on it for 8k and yes bit on slow side but reliable. I'm learning lot about audi with mine.

 

To pricy, but I have had the best of luck with the 2.8, reliability beats the other audi motors I have had. I am a dealer in NC and sell mostly audis and mercedes and after seeing what these cars are selling for at auctions that price is definatly too high. I would say 9-10k would be a pretty good buy.

 

Has the timing belt been changed? The price is a little high. I bought my '00 2.8 last year 114k, all records, recent dealer changed tb for 9k.

have you tried a public car auction, you can get them really cheap.. i think i got mine for around 4000 with about the same miles

Dude, if you attempted to pay nearly$13K, take your time and find a4.2 V8.They are out there. See examples on Ebay
