Almost all modern engines are interference. Basically, the pistons interfere with the valves, long story short, when the timing belt goes so does the engine.

 

I got my 99' a6 quattro with 78k on it for 7 g's from some military guy... i love it!

 

Go to this website and it will list all the auto auctions in Iowa, you will have to call them indivisualy to see if they have public auctions or if it is just for dealers. Its the cheapest way to look for cars and I was able to get a good deal on mine. or just go on ebay dude
