Help!! Looking for suggestions on Air Mass Sensor
I'm just bumping up this thread, just in case someone else runs into the same trouble I had with this AMS issue.
YES!!!!! She's finally back up and running. We got a call yesterday to go pick her up. I hop in the car, turn her on, and check engine light! I'm like "You've got to be kidding me!!" He laughs, says it's throwing a code for thermostat, and changes it real quick. Reluctantly, I take her on the freeway, and she's good all the way home. Running smooth. Hubby took her 50 miles to work today, and no problems so we think she's really fixed this time.
I don't understand "shop talk" but receipt says:
Fuel Pressure Regulator
Crankcase Vent Valve
Air mass Reman
(and gas-for driving her for a week to make sure).
They also cleaned "throttle valve". ??
The only code she was throwing off was the Air Mass Sensor, but she kept blowing those when replaced.
We have our fingers crossed. I'm ready to sell her if one more thing pops up! lol
Thanks for all the help and suggestions, very much appreciated, you guys are the best. =)

Where do you live??
Your the type of person I love to buy old Audi's from. They spend lots of money on their vehicle and when one little thing goes wrong (especially the CEL) they dump it fast at a low price. Got the last two that way. LOL!!

Im having a similar problem. The car was idling rough and choking the engine. I disconnected the MAF and everything runs fine. I took a MAF off a working AEB and still the same problem when i connect it. The signal strength to the MAF is good.
Suggestions?
