Default RE: HELP! Max Tire width on A6 2001

The tire itself is not only wider than the stock tire, which should fit, (I'm running 235/45/17's), BUT, the sidewall, is going to be much larger than stock. The diameter is almost an inch bigger. Might fit, but will throw your speedo way off. I would make sure nothing is rubbing, hitting or otherwise. Especially when going through dips and bumps. If you can avoid this, don't do it. The stock tire diameter is around 25", You're looking at around 26". HTH
