Help! Nav Question
Hello, Does anyone know if 2005 Audi A6's were all prewired for Navigation or not. I have a 2005 Audi A6 Sline V8... I bought it second hand. It has the Navigation Button so I bought the module for the trunk... I was told that the harness should already be in there but cannot seem to find it. Does anyone know for sure if these cars were prewired with the harness or not? Thanks in advance...
Who told you that the harness should be in there?
If the car was prewired specifically for a navig module you should be able to find the harness somewhere under the trunk liner.
Don't be affraid to take the liner off.
If you still don't find it, then you should demand additional information from who told you/sold your module.
I wish I could help you somehow. Good luck.

The dealership said that all 05's are prewired for navigation.... on another forum someone told me that my car is prewired... and others on the forum said no... I'm just so confused...lol I have full mmi except for navigation... when I hit the nav button it says on the screen.. Nav not installed...
Well, I would like to help you, but my car is an older model and doesn't have navigation system.
From what I've noticed taking out my trim and headliner, the common sense makes me believe that if you've been advised your year model was prewired and the harness should be in the trunk, then it has to come alongside the C-Pillar (one of them) - under the pillar cover, since all the wiring goes that route. This may be valid if your SLine is a sedan.
If the module is specifically to be installed in the trunk, try to check the rear speaker(s) area, or pull the liner off the divider panel (between the interior of the car and the trunk) and look if any wire harness comes through one of the holes in the metal sheet.
Some other Nav modules are to be installed in the glove box compartment, so it may not be out of question you have to look rather in front of the car and not in the trunk.
Best bet, however, is to call an Audi dealer and ask them. I doubt they will be deceptive and refuse to give you an answer.
Good luck solving the enigma.
