Help, new guy thinks his turbo or valves has died
Hi All,
Love the site,
Im having a nightmare!!!! im getting a popping noise when my engine is running and am afraid im doing damage...... iv checked the turbo by spinning the blades & are very tight, any ideas welcome.....
its a 2002 C5 2.5TDI

Could be a valve lifter. A bad turbo won't give a popping noise more than once. If it were valves, your engine wouldn't run. Could also be a bad injector. Time to take it to a real mechanic.
