Okay. after i put the engine back together again (air box, MAF, beauty covers) and started the car, i noticed the vacuum cleaner noise you mentioned kick on. I'm assuming this is the secondary air pump.
Question: if it's bad, will it kick on at all?
Also, when it kicked on my A/C was on. Does it only turn on when you have the A/C on? After shutting the A/C off the vacuum cleaner noise shut off after about 10 seconds.

 

EERRR[:@]No the a/c has nothing to do with it. All the secondary air pump does is inject air into the exhaust on cold starts to heat up the cat converters faster thats it, basically its F*****g worthless. But the good news is if you can hear it there is a big *** leak somewhere, check those large plastic lines for leaks, the pump could still be bad but if it activated its probably ok.
