Hello guys..
I need some help, I have to remove d battery to clean d drain under it cause water is coming in d car by passanger side. Now I don't know d radio code, is there a way to unplug d battery without having d radio
erase d code? Is there some type of device or something? I never done this I don't want to
go thru d whole dealer headache to get a code! Thanks

 

Most auto parts stores (e.g., Autozone) sell a little battery powered gizmo that goes in your cigar lighter and provides power to the electrical system so the radio does not lose it's setting. I've never used one, but suggest you check. Of course, there may be clever answers coming about using a trickle charger or float charger attached to the battery cables, but you gotta be real careful not to touch positive to metal.

Went to autozone n got me that lighter thing n it worked! :-) I was able to disconect d battery n clean d drain n now I don't have to worry bout water going in d car again. it Was pretty easy to do this job! Now gonna try to fix cruise control ! Lol

 

fwiw - if you have your vin and the radio code written on the radio Audi of USA will give you the security code.

also, i am not sure why but i have disconnected my battery about 8 times and the radio out a couple in the last 2 mos. and have yet to have to enter the code in....
