Ive noticed recently that my 98 a6 quattro has been putting out some nice trans. whine. You know, the whine that at times can sound like a turbo spool up. Does this mean my transmission is going? Would a fluid change help? Thanks

 

Fluid change always helps. That's the first thing you do when diagnosing anything that uses some internal lubrication =)
Are you sure it's transmission?

 

absolutely positive its the trans. its a noise heard on most auto cars i just noticed it alot more recently.

 

2nd the fluid and filter change.
