have you seen this "improved darker green square" coolant sensors and if so are they truly better than the blue ones??

does the sensor need to have the o-ring installed with it? the old one didn't have one and I can't install the clip to hold the sensor down with the o-ring attached because i can't push it further down into the pipe. if i take it off i can get the clip in.

never mind, i saw after several failed attempts that the old sensor's o-ring was still in the pipe. Was I pulled it out everything went back together like a puzzle.

AFter plugging everything back up, i started the engine and it began vibrating at idle for about 30-45 seconds. Then I drove it 3 miles, stopped, turned off engine, waited 2 min, then restarted and it started normally. Went back home and everything seems to be normal. I turned off the engine waited and turned it on again and no problems. No vibration either.

Thanks auditech79

Ha glad you got that figured out, when i first did a sensor i left the o-ring in too and i felt like an idiot when my team leader came over and pulled it out for me.

Great info auditech79. I have a 2000 a6 2.7t and was wondering if it could be the same part / issue with my car. I am having the same exact problems and it happened out of nowhere. One day my car was running fine and then 2 days later it wouldnt start and would sputter and choke and i would have to hold the gas over 1000 rpm until semi-warm or else it would die out. but once warmed up it can start back up perfectly and runs great.
please respond a.s.a.p. anyone????
