ok so many of you know that im in the market for a 2.7T prolly around the 01-02 range but i wanna no how do i no which one is the right one haha. My car (2.8) was bought from a family friend and it was my first car so how can i tell which 2.7T is the one (of coarse i want a stick).

 

there is erlaly kno telling unless you know how it was driven and who was driving it ... a stick was more likely (9 times outta 10) to be beaten but you never know maybe it was babied ... really the only hting that will give u a minor clue and really there still is no telling is the maint. log ... if you are uncomfortable buying something that you dont kno where its been buy it from a dealer not private party bc if somehtign is messed up at least you can take it back ya know

step 2) test drive
step 3) ppi

 

1) carfax sucks
2)test drive wont tell u if your burning oil etc etc but its better then not test driving
3)????

like i said there is really kno way ... im 22 yrs old and ive bought n sold at least 20+ cars since i was 16 i kno alot about finding deals and spotting beaten, painted, dented, etc cars ... u really cnt tell ... if ur keepin it for a while it pays to spend an extra grand or so to buy it from a dealer of some sort bc if **** hits the fan u can always bring it back

 

I'd add that vag-comming it would surprise the seller in most instances if he/she is trying to hide something. You could discover something unpleasent.

Then again, there is no telling for sure.
