Default How easy is it to change the turbo in a 2000 a6 quattro?

The turbo went out in our 2000 a6 quattro and we are trying to figure out how easy it is to change it. We found the part relatively cheap and were trying to see how to change it out. Can anyone help?

The turbo? Do you have a 1.8T? If so, should be pretty easy.

If you have a 2.7T, a bit more complicated, with two turbos. I believe the engine may have to come out to do turbos on a 2.7, not sure though. Just 2 cents worth. The more info you can give, the better! Good luck.

You are correct, unfortunately. You have to remove the front bumper and pull the engine, I wish I had the tools to do such a job.
