How to tell if car needs inner and outer tie rods
I have a 2000 2.7. I was wondering how to tell if it needs inner tie rods. I know it needs the outers. Also, what is a good brand and how hard are they to put on? Thanks
The inners take a long damn time to wear out on these cars, (200,000+) so i doubt you need inners unless you are in a climate thats really cold any they put salt on the roads.
The outers can be a pain to change if they are rusted/frozen on the steering rack. I would soak the outer tie rod ends with PB blaster the day before working on it, then try to break them loose the next day. Just make sure to COUNT how many turns it takes to remove the tie rod end. It usually takes between 21 and 23 turns to remove it. Put them back on with the same number of turns, put it all back together and have the car aligned.

I had done my outters last year, and my inner (driver side went bad) so I just had it replaced last weel
