Default HTC Touch and Bluetooth integration on 05 A6

Trying to get the phonebook for my HTC Touch (now on the "tested" list provided by Audi) to sync with the BT system in my 2005 A6. Pretty much all features will sync (missed calls, received calls etc), save the main phonebook. Is there an Audi firmware update that will allow enhanced BT stack functionality for the handsfree? Has anyone had any luck syncing Windows Mobile 6 devices? I've also tried Jetware, to no avail.

In searching the forums, it appears that the remedy for this conundrum is a case by case fix--thanks for bearing with me.

Best,
Scott

Have you had the MMI software updated? The Bluetooth functionality improved dramatically in my 05 4.2 after the MMI upgrade.

I have not--I'm pretty sure that I'm at the original install version.

Do youo know what the current version is?

Is it necessary to do this at a dealer--I've read elsewhere that one can do the install DIY style using slot 1 of the CD player, but I'm unaware of how to obtain the requisite media.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I started with version 10.5. I am now on version 33.4. I have heard others say that they have version 44.1. As far as installation, the dealerdid it for me for free. If you have less than 50K miles it would also be free for you.

Thanks--the dealer is trying to tell me that it's $180 to perform the update--this is insane.

While I believe that Audi should do it for free, considering how much happier I am with the MMI after the update it is worth$180.

i have an aftermarket unit and was looking to connect a WM6 device so i got jetware and in my research i heard that if you have jetware and use the audi system you need to enter your phone book one by one for it to work lol ... im not sure about thier 180$ upgrade ... maybe you could find it somewhere and vagcom it in ??!!

The MMI upgarde is a software upgrade that is loaded through the CD player.

I'm wondering that since the most recent "approved" phone list released by Audi includes my phone, and it will not work without Jetware, if this consitiutes something that should be covered under the warranty period. Has anyone successfully upgraded the MMI firmware themselves? Do you need to perform a post-install VagCom to reactivate anything?

THnaks in advance!
