I have a 98 cluster, and I bought 2001 HELP!
Hi Every1,
I have purchased a 2001 a6 gauge cluster, but my car is 1998...
I don't like the all red lights on the gauge and the analog clock on my car.
The newer ones have white lights and digital clock.
Here's my scenario...
There are 3 plugs in the back Blue, Red, Green...
The blue and the green plug is the same, but the middle plug which is red is different, it has more pins on the newer models
The previous 98 gauge have only 20 pins on the middle plug, but the newer gauge have 30 or 32 I think...
Is there anyone out there that knows how to MOD this plugs?
Any help?
Thanks-

Yeah I still have it but I took out all the SMD LEDS
It still works but no lights on them, unless someone buys it and they will install new smd LEDS...
I think the mileage is around 100000 or below
Thanks-

I suggest you contact VDO and see if they are willing to give you a pin diagram or your old cluster and the new cluster.
