Hey guys,
I just traded my Black 2000 A6 2.7T for a Pearl White 2001 S4. I was calculating what I was going to spend to upgrade my A6 suspension/brakes and wheels to make it handle the way I wanted and then realized I should just have an S4. I feel very lucky to have gotten one in the Pearl white (much easier to keep clean)
Have any of you done the RS4 turbo conversion that APR sells?

The APR kit is one of the best. Personally, I like the AWE kit, but you can't go wrong with the APR.

 

Pumaro - congrats - great car/great choice. I've got the APR chip and am very happy with it. I like being able to switch back and forth between stock program and enhanced...and the enhanced program is very smooth - no obvious spiking or such anywhere.

I'd be curious regarding your impressions of the differences between the A6 2.7T and the S4 (with the same engine). I think the A6 is a fine auto and of course the 2.7t is a great engine as well. I know two people who have the A6 with the 2.7t and they both love their cars. One is my brother-in-law. ANd I convinced him to look at an A6 afeter he was pretty much set on a lexus G something or other - he bought the Audi on the spot - says its the best car he has ever had - and he's had some nice ones - including a BMW 325/8 (?) convertable, a Mustang Saleen and an NSX! His Ag is completely stock. My other friend who has the A6 2.7t has modded it out to the max - basically a stage 3+ type of setup with KO4s and the works - a very fast car which he loves because of its sleeper status...

you know the drill ... mob 1 0-40 every 5k miles and keep th dv's in good shape ( change them with 710N when you hear swoshh sound between shifts, similar sound to the BO valves)also fix asap any boost leaks (in case you have any).

 

Roadhawk i love the nagano blue color. i want to have my a4 painted that color when i do a complete s4 exterior makeover.

Congrats on the S4 Pumaro!! I also have a 2001.5 S4 - and I love her. Mine's silver.
Asking about the K04 upgrade, depends on whether you do the whole kit (which i recommend) or just the K04s.
While I'm still saving up for my K04's - I know a lot of people who have done so - and they all love it.
Go nuts! enjoy the power that your S4 can give you, its a rush.
And my mom had a 2000 A6 - I drove that for a while, the difference is huge. The s4 feels a lot nimbler.

Roadhawk, the main difference between the 2000 A6 2.7T and my 2001 S4 that I noticed is the nimbleness of the S4 just made the A6 feel like it was so much heavier that there really is no comparison between the two. Currently the S4 doesn't have the rocket like accelleration of my old chipped A6 but I'm sure that will change next week when my ECU comes back from APR[sm=smiley4.gif]
Of course I also like the way the S4 looks over the A6 and the ESP comes in handy on snowy roads..Overall I'm very happy with the switch to the S4.

 

Hello fellow Audi comrads I just hopped into a s4 picking it up tomorrow so excited. Black 2001 s4 6spd 40k a year driving in a volvo 960 will really make u appreciate getting back into a audi. wrecked an a4 2 years back got a dui and all down in tampa glad i experienced that young but it ruined my 96 pearl white 5speed a4 good thing is i sold it to a buddy for 500 and he completely rebuilt it will post pics of both when i get a chance later and greetings from marclar my name is Rodney though
