Thanks slee22

Mac I have a 6 speed in my 4.2 A6 I also changed my motor to a S8 ( well I actually didn't do much the guys at VAST did but...)

There is a ton of stuff you can do to the tip. What motor do you have?

I just saw a tip S4 that made 475 WHP

I went for a ride in a tip pasatt that made 337WHP

Both rode well and were very strong

The conversion is very in depth you need to change everything from parts of the harness to the peddle assembly to adding a master cylinder.
I payed a little over 8000 to have mine done. But I had all new parts put in

Hey thanks for the tip (no pun intended). I can get a manuel tranny used with few miles on it for 2k and I know I would need another 1k in parts. By any chance do you know how many hours it took? Thanks for the heads up I'm thinking about doing this over the summer while I'm in Egypt so I get back to a manuel. The problem is I know I will blow this tranny. Hey how much for the s8 motor, I have the 2.7t now with all the features APR stage2 all that type of stuff. I plan keeping the engine of my 2.7t to transplant into my Westfield xtr. Anys thanks for the help and where is Vast located?

I've heard that the B6 S4 manual tranny is virtual plug-n-play for the C5 A6 4.2. True?

Mac,

VAST is located in Detroit Mi. If I were you I would keep the 2.7T There are a lot of mods out there for that. The guys at vast have 4 running GT turbo kits on the 2.7T ALL of them make over 600WHP on low boost and pump gas. You might want to E mail them

Hey Boston,

They had a B6 trans there and It looked quite a bit different. I believe that the timing belt chain being in the back of the motor might have made the tranny different. Or at least appear different
