Hello, I am looking to change the bulbs in my car to an aftermarket HID setup. I am looking to hear from those of you who havedone them to your car.

I have a 1999 A6 2.8 quattro.

First, from my research on this topic, i have read some people talking about a projector beam style headlamp... I beleive my car has that but how can I tell for sure?

2. What brands and websites do you recomend?

3. where did you place the Ballast?

4. did the car throw off any codes after the install

5. any elec. problems after the instal?

6. is there a link with someones step by step explenation on here somewhere?

You do have elipsoid fixtures so that good to go. On my 00 I have not received any bulb failure warnings or have had any problems. The link Crazyhawk posted has great prices.

I've had mine for around a year now and still have had no problems. Now my bulbs are only 6 months or so old. I originally bought 6k but felt they looked too purple while looking into the fixtures and then bought 4300k to match oem color. I suggest (although this is a hot topic) you get 4300k.
