Default I need brakes on my 00 A6 2.7t Quattro

Is this something i can do my self? Keep in mind ive built a jeep and modded a mustang. So brakes in general arent something new to me. Just wondering if theres anything special that needs to be done. Or any special tools.

Also what parts are reccomended for a daily driver?? I need both rotors and pads. Also what tools will i need?

The only special tool will be a brake caliper set to help get the rear pucks back into the caliper. I use Zimmerman rotors and Hawk HPS pads. I get mine from ECS Tuning.

A couple of things...

1. The rear brake pistons will only retract if you spin and push. It won't work if you just push. You can get a full blown kit that has the piston compressor and attachments, or get something called a brake piston cube. You can get these pretty much anywhere.

2. Check your rear rotor size and depth. More than one size were used in your model.

I have the same car '00 A6 2.7T Quattro.
Seems like there can be different styles of front brakes. Mine had 4 pads/wheel, while some others could have 2 pads/wheel. The pads are different sizes. So be sure to get correct replacements. Also I think they have different rotors. I had 321mm dia. w/ 30mm thickness. Got replacement from Adv. Auto, but the hat size was too big, so they didn't fit. I returned them & ordered online. Some of the online audi parts sites point these differences out, & they also sell kits of rotor + pads. Check your brake hose while your down there. Both L & R sides of mine were cracked bad due to age & abuse.
I haven't got to the back yet. But, as I suspected, yet another special tool. Here's some links I found useful, also searching forum with good keywords helps too.

THanks for the help. Turns out the rotors DONT need to be replaced. So just the pads.
