no. ericgalIt's not.
Flushing and changingfluid is $380.
"Output shaft seal" itself is $486.60.
Honestly, $380 for flushing is alsoextremely expensive, but Igot the conclusion thatonly Audi Certified dealer can
do trans job properly. I hope so.

In Houston we have several independent shops with Audi trained techs. The one I go to quoted $300 for flush, filter, and fill. The fill-for-life synthetic ATF is expensive and, as I recall, was over $100 of the total.
I was advised that my seal was leaking also, but apparently slow enough thatit wasn't an immediate priority.

Sorry to hijack this post, but ericgl, I have been trying to find a reliable independent mechanic who is experienced in working with Audis in Houston for a long time. So where is this mechanic you bring your Audi to located? Do you know anyone near the Galleria area?
My boss recommended European Cars Limited as being both qualified and honest. This week they they changed my timing belt and I was pleased with their service. Shortly after I threw a CEL. They got me in right away and determined it was reading a cat inefficiency. They reset the ECU at no charge and said 'let's keep an eye on it'. It hasn't come back.
They are located on Feagan, just northeast of Memorial and Shepherd.

$380? Thats nothing! Check out The Collection in Miami, FL , got quoted $890 , I just decided Ill do it myself, the worst that could happen is the car falls on me, I dont see how you can mess up the flush, its pretty straight fordward, or atleast it looks that way on papers.
