This may sound strange but can anyone recommend a spry-on product that will seal ignition wires?

In the olden days (in the land before mochas, computers, and OBD I or II) we used a sealer for the ignition wires and distributor when ice racing. I can't remember the name of the product and didn't see anything like it at Autozone or VIP. One guy sugested WD-40 but that is a water replacer not sealer.

 

Those sealers were all silicone based you dont see them really marketed much as ignition sealers anymore but you can still buy generic silicone sprays I get them through grainger but have also seen it on the shelf at Napa auto parts stores. I still use them on my snowmobile and quads.

 

If generic silicone spray works, they sell it at Walmart.

 

Isn't the same thing as "Spray-a-gasket" that it is carried by AutoZone?

I think Spray-a-gasket is different because it is a tacky sealant that fills pits and voids. I could use it on the seat so I don't slide around when conering at 85 MPH but it would probably make a mess out of the ignition system.

I have a few cans of silicon lubricant on the shelf in the garage so I'll find the one with the fewest additives and give it a try.
