Default Instrument Cluster

I recently posted about the temperature gauge and fuel gauge not working in my cluster. Soo I went and bought a used one from a yard.
I connected it and both gauges were working and the lcd display was perfect, no dead pixels. How do i "sync" the right milage to the instrument cluster i just bought. My car had around 151,000 mi and the one i just bought has 132,000 mi

anyone?
i also came across posts about how some do this to rollback mileage. It had me wondering if when i purchased my car it had the original mileage on the cluster.

What's the correct way to get the actual mileage from the ecm?
1. i want to make sure my mileage is right. it was around 151,000 mi
2. i want to correct the used instrument cluster i bought withthe correct mileage. the one i just put in has lower mileage than the actual instrument cluster. PLEASE HELP

I don't think that you would be able to do this yourself, you can try going to the dealer and pay some pretty penny for it. You should send your original cluster to get repaired and just put it back in the car. There are people on ebay that rebuild clusters for like $150, they will even fix your LCD if it has dead pixels.

you're lucky your car even started with a cluster from a different car mate. there are people out the that can do this for you but as mentioned before, get your old one repaired. have a look here Cluster Repairs UK - Instrument cluster speedometer repair, correction, modification and spares..

They do a complete overhaul for around £95 + return delivery. Then sell the one you purchased on ebay.
