Default Intake

Anyone know of an aftermarket intake for an A6 2.8 that actually produces real power gains. I'm looking to rectify the anmia in my powerband that occurs below 3000 rpms. I'm not a drag racer, but i drive up steep road a lot, and want to rev the engine a little less. Any ideas on chips would be a help as well. I need about 10 -20 hp and better throttle response.

I am in the same boat. I have a 96 A6 quattro wagon. I would like a little more power as well, but not have to break the bank.

jesmith, you have the 99 A6 2.8? So that means you have the 30V. A few things you can do - get a K&N drop in filter or something like the lltek cone air intake. Both will help the top end, but the lack of bottom end power is really a function of the way Audi tuned the engine.

GIAC makes an engine chip which is said to improve driveability and peak output, and may be something you might want to look into.
