Default Intermittent Loss of Headlights, Turn Signals and A/C Display

Hi All,
over the last couple of days, my 1998 A6 Quattro Wagon (2.8) has developed an intermittent fault.
When starting the car, I find the A/C display is blank, and that I have no turn signals or headlights. I still get running lights and full beam if I use the flasher.

If I turn off the car and start again, it all works again. Sometimes this "fix" takes two attempts.
I have checked the related fuse and all seems to be OK. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Has to be the ignition switch going bad... when you face this situation again try jiggling your key 1mm clockwise or 1 mm anti clockwise and see if this fixes the issue... if it does then it is definitely your ignition switch going bad.. and needs to be replaced... it is easily done.. search this forum or search in audiworld.com
