I just purchased a used (obviously) 2005 A6. It does have the Bluetooth package on it, I was able to get my new iPhone 3G 2.2 to pair with the car, and can make calls. I can not get any of my contacts to show up on the car though. I've seen lots of threads with this being a problem in older iPhone OS versions, but haven't seen anything new. I'm told the dealership upgraded my MMI software when I bought the car, so that shouldn't be a problem. I have about 300 contacts, have waiting for at least an hour, and nothing shows up.

I have owned a 2005 A6 4.2 for nearly 4 years. I had the same problem when I first got the car. The problem was an old software version for the MMI. Once the MMI software was updated the phone downloaded the contacts everytime I get in the car. However, the number of contacts is limited to 500. Which MMi software version are you running?
