Default it's time for a change

It's time for a new car and i'm really interested in an audi a6, but there seems to be a lack of reliability. I had originallyintended on purchasing the quattro 4.2 from around 2000-2003, but many people seem to have problems, i've searched the forum and found insufficient amount of information regarding those years. Autos.msn.com has given only the 2001 a6 a 5 out of 5 reliability rating, my question is what year and drivetrain combination is the most reliable and when looking to buy one of these what are some problematic things to look for?

Thanks Justin

From 1 justin to another. The 2001.5 or 2002+ 4.2 is the one to get I have the 01.5 and it is a good way to go. you can drive the car and feel comfortable about its relyability. I have been very happy with mine. Just add a VAST tip and ECU chip and you are all set
