Keep 04 A6 2.7T even when leasing 07 4.2 Sline?

Keep 04 A6 2.7T even when leasing 07 4.2 Sline?
My son is coming of age and will be able to drive this year.
Which means that for our family we will need two cars.
We just ordered a 4.2L Sline (with tech package) A6 that will arrive in October. Our dealer told us that he recomends that we keep our lease on our current 04 A6 2.7T until Feb when it was origionally due.
This way we can either find something new in the used lot then or buy out our car.
So the question is, buy out the 04 A6 2.7T that only has 32,000 miles on it for $27,000
Or try and find something cheaper on the lot?
This would be a second car. What would you do if for roughly that price you could keep the A6 (premium package, almost all options, RS wheels...ect, great condition) or see if you could find say an A4 that is less?

Agree with the speaker above. It is a rule of thumb - everyone who learns driving hits the car at least three times. Jump out of the lease on a high note and used civic it is! P.S.: Did he REALLY earned Audi?

I also agree with the two previous posters. First if you give him this car then you can kiss it goodbye. Second, make him earn it at least. I know if my parents had given me a luxury car for free for my first car I probably would have wwaaaaayyyyy less character and be like one of those annoying rich kids that go to my school and think I was stupid for having a job while in college...sorry if I have to pay rent.

Well first off its not for him.
My wife and I own one car right now.
I take the train to work. But there are many times when I have to take a car.
The last thing I want to do is leave one person stranded without a car, let alone 2.
Also, this car would not be $50K
We spoke to our dealer and he told us that we would be able to buy it out for around $24-27 depending on final inspection.
Where we live FOUR WHEEL drive is a must.
I will not put my wife, or son in a non 4x vehicle. And a front wheel drive Japanese or American car will not cut it. So its either a used AUdi, or Subaru, or jeep of somekind (but I do not want an SUV because of rollovers)
Would you pick that car or not?

hmm put like that, I'd hang onto the A6. $27,000 isnt bad for an 04, especially since you know the recent maintenance history and have already driven it. You could get your son a Subaru Legacy, Impreza, Outback, SVX, WRX (if you like him that much and if you are getting an 04 A6 and an S Line money doesnt seem to be a major concern for you), older A4 quattro, light truck like an older S10, Ranger, Frontier, older Tundra, or Ram (lower risk of rollover, 4wd capable and can haul furniture if you need to put him to work). Cant think of any other AWD vehicles off the top of my head but those may be a good start for a new driver. They can still be considered 'cool' but practical.
