Default Need help identifying part

Whilst looking to fix the throttle boot issue with my 2.7T I notice a broken non return valve on the vacuum system

I have been to my Audi dealer to seek the part but without taking it off they cannot identify it on the system.

I would then lose the car for 2 weeks whilst they ordered it and also would have to pay for them to replace a simple part.

I have taken some photos of the offending item and was hoping that someone would be able to identify and get the part number.

If someone also knows what part of the engine system this affects it may also allow me to identify where my current problems are.

Many thanks in advance

Danny

Default Can't help with the part number, but looks like part of the bypass valve control circuit

I tried to upload the diagram from the Bentley, but I'm not sure it worked. I don't use this forum too much.

Default Here's a picture from my car with the Y-pipe removed

Maybe this will provide a clue to the parts guys.

After comparing this with your picture, i'm not so sure they are the same layout. My car is a 2000 2.7T w/ manual transmission.

Good luck!

You're in the right area, I've uploaded larger picture again with crude red circle around the item.
On your picture it is obscured I think.
It may be item 1 or 2 from the Bentley CD (Wish I could get one in UK!)
Does the Bentley offer part numbers?

thanks again

Default Don't know if you've seen this but it may help.

2.7T Self Study Guide

If the link doesn't work, go to AudiWorld and do a search for "Self Study Guide"

OK I'm pretty certain it is the non return valve for the divert air control system.
Sits near the N249 divert valve.
Now just need part number
Hopefully with these diags and names now even Audi can find it!

Yep it was the right part and it has been fitted this weekend just gone.

One issue Audi don't send it with the semi-rigid pipe that feeds from the right.

This seemed to be a heat shrunk material so looked like I was goosed.

Removed old part and the pipe in one, then took a risk and gently crushed old inlet pipe on check pipe inside the pipe.

That worked and then I was able to push (very hard) the new check valve into the pipe which clicked nicely into place.

To make double sure I fitted a mini-Jubilee clip. (also had to use for other vacuum connection as clips Audi sent were too big!)

Picture shows new check valve in place.

Discovered why the original cracked. This area of the enginer must have been worked on, and the semi-rigid pipe in question rather than looping around a nearby pipe was forced under it, putting a strain on the whole valve......crack...

Anyhow all in place, DTCs cleared and not returned

Cheers
P.S. Also made a home made tool for fitting the Audi compression clips. Took a pair of pinchers and filed the edges to a smooth round edge. Worked a treat
