256,000 and change
funny I noticed this thread while I'm looking for help on my overheating issue..LOL..I have a 2001 2.7t Stage 1+...I love this car most of the time, but hate it when I'm fixing suspension issues, occasional misfires, etc. But I cant complain, she dont owe me a thing..A luxury sedan with 300 plus hp that looks brand new, kicks *** in the snow, and is comf on long trips. I think maintenace is key...I change the oil every 3 k or so(rotella 5-40, 30 in winter), let her warm up before getting on the turbos, and always letting her cool down before I shut her off....AUDI FOREVER!!!

1996 Audi A6 Quattro with 150,000 miles.

The engine is still going strong with no troubles.
Other than that though, she's really been racking up the aches and pains over this last year.
The transmission just started shifting rough last week.
Had to replace the CV Joint last month.
All the small latches, doors, locks, AC controls, etc are failing one by one over the past year.
I feel she's sadly running out of gas, so to speak.

had 203,000 + on my 99 A6, bought it used with about 32,000. List on the car new was 45K Maintenance kept it going. If you are in western pa, Maroney's foreign auto, will take care of you at reasonable prices. they are in Smithton PA and on the internet.
still have the car but not running
i run my a8, 2006 while my wife drives her 2005 a6, both have over 100,000 miles and will keep them for a couple more years at least.

Quote: what was your timing belt change schedule? Did you replace it yourself? It appears to be a lot work.
What year? what engine? Mine is easy.

I've been driving a 2004 3.0 Quattro Avant with 84,000 miles for over a year now. Timing belt, water pump etc. replaced around 73k, all 8 control arms and front struts just replaced last week (ugh). Need to replace rear window clips and a couple O2 sensors, but other than that she runs great! Smooth and luxurious ride.

how many miles?
1998 2.8 auto. Just hit 197K.

replaced the transmission about 3 years ago, then did the 180K service. No real issues since then

Currently doing my version of 5ped6's stereo upgrade, and fixing the driver's window -again.
