Default License plate tray interchangeable between sedan and avant?

I have a 99 avant with a cracked license plate tray. (The part with the fog lights in it.) Is this part the same for the avant and the sedan? I found a euro one locally. Will a US plate fit the mounting holes already in the euro part?

Thanks!

Nobody knows this? Guess I'll try to look up the part numbers for the sedan and the avant...

By "tray", do you mean the bracket on which the plate mounts, or the flat "recessed" area in the bumper cover itself on which the plate bracket fastens on (in which case you need the bumper cover)?

In any event, the MODEL SELECTION on Vagcat.com is for "Audi6/Avant", so the front for the same model year should be the same.

If you need the bracket, then you need to look for:
(11) 4B0807285
licence plate bracket / if necessary paint in color of vehicle
--------------------------------------------------------
4B0807285 GRU - primed

Sorry for any confusion, but I'm talking about the rear license plate surround with the fog lights in it.

I too am sorry for the confusion. VagCat doesn't show that surround area as an "insert" or a separate part.
Since I don't have a C5, I have no idea if that comes apart or you may need a whole new trunk lid (I hope you don't, because its price is around $ 720).

You should try Force5Auto.com, or Shokan.com.
Sorry I couldn't help further. Good luck

It's listed under electrical as "TAIL LIGHT TRIM FOR LICENCE PLATE AND REAR FOG LIGHT"

Looks like it is different for sedans and avants.
