Default little metal flick switch near driver's knee -anybody know what it is? with pics now

Does anybody know what this little switch does? It can be flicked up or down... I'll post a photo later tonight. It's a 1cm little metal switch near the driver's knee just inside the little storage compartment...

My model is a 2002 A6 Avant Quattro.

I can't find the switch documented anywhere online!

Thanks!

That does not look like Audi switchgear. I bet that is an aftermarket switch. Fuel or ignition cutoff would be my bet. If not then perhaps it was installed for some aftermarket lights, perhaps some nice neon's under the car

hi..it does dont look like an original switch..

it is got to be an aftermarket switch that been added by one of the previous owners..
simple way to check it,is to disassamble the plastic and see where the cables go..

good luck!..

It's strange though... only one previous owner... a little old lady who barely used the car.... can't see her adding any mods...

I've turned the car on and flicked the switch up and down and absolutely nothing happens at all :-)

It's so the NSA can track you. Can you trace the wires? Gotta go someplace.
