Default Location of Automatic Transmission Fluid A6 Avant 2003

Hello Everyone,

My automatic transmission seems to slip into neutral at 40 mph. My friend told me to check the transmission fluid. Of couse...they don't tell u where it is in the owner's manual. Is this something easy to check and top off? Can someone please tell how to do this?

Thanks!

There is no dipstick on this Audi transmission. You need to raise the car up and check it from the bottom side. I suggest you take it to a trans shop and just have them change the fluid. That way you have some new fluid and you know the level is correct. The service is cheap, this Tuesday I will be having another 4 quarts of my fluid changed and it will cost about 80.00 since the filter is new.
