Default Low Oil Light

I did an oil change about 4 months ago and drove about 2500 miles on my 2001 Audi A6 2.8 Quattro and while driving last weekend i got an engine oil low light came on... i only own the car for about 4 months so not sure whats the history behind it .... anyone can shed some light here please... should i change oil every three months and not worry about the mileage ? i dont see any oil leak and there is not a single drop of oil in my drive way...

Low oil light means low oil pressure -- Don't you check your oil level?

No leaks? How about smoke from the tail pipe?
It only has a few ways to exit the motor.

I'm wondering if you put enough oil in when you changed it!!

yes you can use that type of oil. I heard of people using different types of oil types depending in the weather they live in. ( but if you have the 2.7 turbo, stick with the fully synthetic)

Since you are new, Audi does take more oil than regualar cars compared to honda and other cars. so make sure you check your oil level

you should just make it a habit to check the oil level at every fill up. Its something to do while you wait and they always have paper towels handy. You can even judge the condition by the color of the oil on the towel.
