May be a dumb question..
Ok I bought my 2001 Audi a6 quattro biturbo 2.7L and on my drivers side door there are 2 buttons. One is the trunk . and the other idk it has a car with radio waves coming down from the roof. My car did not come with most the user manual... Please advise wtf this button does.
That button is to disable the interior monitoring for the alarm. There's sonar in the car (think the sensors are in the b-pillars) to sense motion. If the alarm is armed, it will go off if motion is sensed in the interior. You can shut it off to prevent false alarms (like if there's a dog in the car or something). Of course, you shouldn't leave a dog in the car unattended but....................people do.
The alarm will still function if the car is broken into or the hood/trunk are tampered with, just no interior motion detection.
