Default metric?

I was just wondering if there was a way to change the display screen to metric. I like C more than F so thats the only thing i really would like to switch but miles to killometers would be cool too...just wondering thanks

On the factory VAS scan tool (which is basically the same) i use guided functions or guided fault finding and activate module 17 Instrument cluster and use the guided functions for coding the unit.
Search around with the VAG COM you should be able to find test plans for coding the unit.
You can change when the lights come on in the cluster, metric or SAE, all kinds of stuff.

I second AudiTech. I have only seen it done using a VAG com type device. I still need to get my hands on my friend's one. Just do what I need and give it back

no need for all this for the temperature, yu can do it by using your temp-A/C controls. Not sure which for yuor car, but typically you have to press two buttons at once and it is ALWAYS in the manual, did it on my 96 A6 and my current 04 A6. I am a Celsius guy too
I'll check my book tonight...
Don't know abuot the miles to Kilo...

If you have the mmt/mmi interface there is an option for it under car set up. If all you have is the screen in your speedo there is still a setup place for it. ALmost all cars have an option to switch temperature from F-C hell, my FORD F-350 does, so your audi is guarenteed to.

With the car running in PARK

1. Press the RECIRC Button
2. Press the Temp Up button

it will flash from F to C or visa versa.

Enjoy!
