Default Miles to KM

I'm pretty sure I can get a new speedo to convert Miles to KM... is it possible to have my ECU flashed or somehow have all the read outs switched form Miles to KM?

I'm looking at purchasing a 2004 S4, fromt he states. I live in Canada.

Anyone done this, or know if its possible?

Don't know about converting your cluster from Miles > Km, but I don't think you can
import a 2004 S4 from the States.
Check at the Registrar of Imported Vehecles site at http://www.riv.ca/english/html/us_ve...ssibility.html, click Vehicles Admissable..
I'm quite sure the model you want is inadmissable, means you can't import it. .

not sure if this works,
but there is article on replacing the gauge, it's just coding on the ecu that changes the country, miles to KM. etc.
prob need vag-com to do it.
http://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec.html
has it using vag-com.

If what your wanting to do is change the instrument cluster so it reads KPH VS MPH all you would have to do is code the newclusterfor it. The dealer has all the codings for the instrument cluster, just buy the cluster and make sure the cluster is coded for KPH because it might read in MPH even with the cluster showing you KPH. Understand?

yes you can import any car from the states...It's not the same principal as importing form europe or even japan. Many people are going to the states buying cars from dealers and bringing them into canada. As for the purpose of the topic, I agree with going to the dealer and getting it reflashed.

" you can import any car from the states.. " ? . Pls check www.riv.ca , unfortunately
we are Not able to import all cars from the US to Canada. There are many cars/ vehicles
that are not allowed to be impoted (we are talking used here.)

I bought/ imported a 2001 A6 last year from Brooklyn, there are lots of rules to follow.
But when you find the right car/ price it can be worth while.
