Default MMI troubleshooting in depth

2005 Audi A6 C6 3.2 Quattro Ive scoured the internet and youtube troubleshooting tips. Ive replaced the MMI circuit board, made sure no buttons are sticky etc. Im getting the MMI display powering on, the audi logo appears and the the screen dims and i hear a low, soft popping sound in the drivers side door speaker. My next step is to replace the actual MMI module as I have read that due to a design flaw it can be exposed to water through the back left wheel well. The problems did occur after a trip in which i did drive in some heavy rain, so that alone has me thinking water damage to one of the modules in the trunk but most of the issues seemed to be with sticking buttons or a failed circuit board. I noticed this evening that the navigation system flickers on and off and also there are some sounds coming from the components in the trunk as you can see in the video. any and all advice would be appreciated I've probably put about 50 hours of labor and research in myself and am hesitant to put more replacement parts without accurately diagnosing the problem. Thanks in advance/
