i just got a 99 audi a6 quattro 2.8
now i'm trying to look and research some performance mods.
one of the first upgrades would be my air intake.
i dont kno if i should get a whole CAI or just change the air filter to a high airflow filter like a k&n or something, but doubt that will make much of a difference. What would you guys recommend?
im kinda new to the audi scene so not to fimiliar with performance mods for audi's.
after the air intake i would prob get a chip, but not sure how much of a difference i would make to my car.

 

There's really nothing worth doing without getting a supercharger besides doing the chip. You'll have to live with not modding or buy something like a 1.8T (or any turbo), or some ricer.

 

exhaust, CAI (with a sealed compartment divider) and a GIAC chip. past that, as @nm3210 stated, there isn't a whole lot worth doing. you could get a supercharger, but the cost involved is half of a C5 A6 w/ 2.7t, and the performance would be comparable. being as you just bought the A6, i'm assuming trading it in isn't on your list of want-to-do's.
