Hi hi

I have a Audi A6 avant 2.8l FWD model 2001 with multitronic gearbox.

The gearbox is heavilly damaged.

Can i use a normal gearbox insted of bying a new multitronic gearbox ?

The multitronic gearbox that I have is called CVT-O1J.

Please help !!

Best regards Gisli

Gisli,

Do not panic!

And do not open another thread as the result would be the same - you are not providing the info we need!

You should believe we could help you only if you provide the necessary info.
We are no wizards and can not read your mind - not at that distance!

What do you call a "normal" transmission?
Let me explain myself - we have mostly Quattro cars here - a FWD is considered an exotic one.
The normal transmission is the Tiptronic - made by ZF.
Multitronics are made by VAG and are proven to be not the best on the market.

To make the story short - due to highly computerization of the cars these days, even if you are able to fit (somehow) mechanically a "normal" transmission, consider the electronics side of the picture... perhaps build a new car from scratch..

Salvaged yards?
Insurance coverage- was your damage a gazers related (by any chance) ....

Sorry and good luck!
