I have a 2.5TDI A6 Avant 2004 with about 68000 miles on the clock. I had the clutch changed about a year ago at around 55000 miles because of judder on moving away from start.

I now have another intermittent problem that has just appeared. I find that the box flicks from Drive to Sport, sometimes doing this several times and then generally settling back to Drive. On some occasions, when it ends up in S, I cannot move it back to D, only to N, R and P. It's not just the display that's flicking on the dash, the box is really flipping gear - you can feel it and see it on the rev counter.

Has anyone got any idea what might be wrong - perhaps a sensor or something??
