Hello All,

Just got a 2001 A6 2.8 Quattro, on the second day I had it it went into limp mode and threw out code p0753 Shift Solenoid "A" Electrical.

A local, independant shop will be diagnosing and looking for electrical issues.... hopefully just worn, loose wire in valve body harness... but if not...

Where can I get "Shift Solenoid A"? Stealership will not sell just the solenoid, they require me to buy the entire valve body.

Also, how can I tell what model tranny I have and part number for Shift Solenoid A?

Thanks for all your help. I am going to try and document (with pics, video) the procedure we go through to diagnose and fix the problem, as it might be useful to others. (I have a drivers window that will not go up (broken window clips), I found a video on YouTube that showed step by step how to fix it.... invaluable.)

See how much they charge for the valve body. I would replace as much as possible if your going to keep it.
