What is the correct oil capacity for a 2006 A6 3.2 ?
The owners manual says 8.6 quarts. I recently did an oil change (with filter) The dip stick read full before the change. I drained all of the oil and only had to add 6 quarts to read full again. I then measured the oil that I drained and it measured 6 quarts. Am I missing something here?

Oil Capacity on a 2005 3.2 is only 6.9 quarts. By the way it is 9.3 quarts on the 4.2 The only thing I see at 8.5 quarts is the coolant in the 3.2.

 

Well, the owners manual did have it correct for the 4.2 (9.3 quarts).
I mistakenly said it was a 2006 when it is a 2005. Maybe they corrected the owners manual for 2006.
