Default Need Advice Badly - Keep or Dump???

OMG...I wasn't prepared for this!!! Timing belt broke on 2004 Audi A6 3.0 Quattro with 165K on it. I have owned it for just under a year. Passenger side exhaust valves bent and dinged tops of pistons. I am being told that a used motor would be my best bet. I have around $7K into the vehicle as of right now. I have found motors for $2000+. I'll have $10K+ after I go this route. The car is in good condition. What should I do??? What is the car worth as is and to who??? I don't have a clue what direction to go in. Thanks is advance for any help!

Check Kelly Blue Book and make a decision. It's worth next to nothing as a parts car now. The trick is making sure you get a good, low mileage used engine. If you do and can get another 100k out of the car, it may be worth investing. I just put $2500 into cats at 185k (now at 206k) which is close to your number. I intend to keep the car for another 2-3 years and it's still cheaper than car payments.
